Hello, Crawlers! It's patch notes time. We've made some changes to the system rules, so pay attention.

Some of you found an XP loophole regarding the book and lists. This loophole has now been fixed. Let's review.

One Payout Per Book. Forever. Adding a book to a list pays 5 XP the first time that book lands on any of your lists. Ever. We check the book ID stored with your past XP events, not just the dedupe key, so if you already farmed a book under the old per-list rule, congratulations, you've already been paid. That's fantastic!

Cap of 10 Book-to-List Awards. Hit ten and the book still goes on your list. It just stops paying you XP for it. Sorry about that!

List XP Only for Your First 5 Lists. Lifetime. And here's the twist: a list pays when it gets its first book, not when you create it. So the creating-and-deleting-empty-lists routine? Adorable. but it's no worth zero, so please stop.

Exploit Patched! We found that adding to a list used to hand out XP even when nothing was actually inserted, such as when some enterprising crawler passed a list ID they didn't own. Adding to a list now reports whether the book was really added, and you only get paid if it was. Isn't that great?

New Feature! Toasts! The add-to-list menu now tells you what you earned, or that you've hit your daily cap, in the same style as the Read toast.

But Relax. Nothing you may have already earned is being taken away. The new rules only apply to new adds. You're so welcome!

Special Recognition to a certain crawler: I ran a query on the database, and wow. 299 list-add awards covering only 25 distinct books, plus 13 paid lists. That's roughly 1,690 XP: 1,495 from list adds and about 195 from lists. Don't worry. You keep every point. However, you will never earn another point from those books or from new lists. We don't want your fellow crawlers calling you a Quan CH now, do we? Anyway, All other crawlers look perfectly normal. One award per book, one or two lists each. Good job everyone!
